Downtown Los Angeles—On May 16th, all WISH Academy High School students had the opportunity to participate in the Society for Science Education Outreach Day at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Thursday, May 16. Over 1,700 students from 60+ countries were represented at the Science Fair. All students were encouraged to attend the field trip. “I want the students to have the opportunity to learn many pure disciplines in science, such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as applied sciences in Mathematics and Engineering.” Said WISH Academy Science Teacher Dr.Leggett who planned and chaperoned the event.
The field trip explored a unique opportunity for thousands of local students in grades 6-12 to meet the Regeneron ISEF finalists from around the world. Students participated in many hands-on, interactive STEM activities demonstrating innovation through science projects of their design.
Throughout the event, WISH had the opportunity to explore finalist project displays while searching through diverse subject areas. Local and national STEM educational institutions showcased their work alongside STEM-focused companies in a health environment. Regeneron ISEF finalists told their stories of their STEM journeys on stage.
